Sunday Morning Bible Study
8:30 AM & 9:45 AM
Small-group Bible study classes for adults of all ages. Classes are
offered at both hours for men and women, couples and single adults - Click here to see our schedule of classes!
Discipleship Training
Sundays at 5:00 PM
Wednesdays at 6:00 PM
Classes also offered weekdays and weeknights at FBC and in homes.
Short-term topical studies are offered to help Christians grow in their faith, their relationships, and effective ministry
G.R.O.W.
Mondays at 6:20 PM, January through May
This is our Sunday School based outreach program for the winter and
spring months. Classes participate on a rotational basis (once per
month) in outreach visitation and ministry to class members
Mid-Week Prayer Service
A more traditional offering on Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM in the
Fellowship Hall - prayer requests are shared and one of our ministers
leads a time of Bible study
Singles Ministries
Bible studies, discipleship classes, fellowship and recreation activities are offered for single adults
Family Enrichment Seminars
Seminars and conferences are offered on topics such as marriage, parenting, and Christian finances
Senior Adult Ministries
A wide variety of classes and activities are offered for our more “experienced” adults:
• J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) meets Tuesdays at 10:00 AM (September –
May) in Room 102 for a time of music, prayer and Bible study. The
coffee is refreshing and so is the message!
• Fun and Fitness – a fitness class for senior adult ladies, consisting
of stretching, toning, and range of motion exercises. Monday – Friday,
7:30 AM, Room 104
• H.E.A.R.T.S. (Helping Every Aging Resident Today) meets monthly for
activities, meals, movies, and day trips. Inspirational speakers and
programs are provided.
• Homebound Ministry – FBC has an active ministry to those who are no
longer able to get out and about. With more than 40 homebound members
on roll, we are always looking for people willing to visit at least
once a month.
• Senior Adult Vacation Bible School – It’s not just for kids! We enjoy
a week of Bible study and fellowship, usually in May, which revolves
around a fun theme. The week culminates with our famous fish fry!
• Senior Adult Day – An annual event to honor our senior adults
• Senior Celebrations – An annual trip in the fall, usually to Ridgecrest, NC or Pigeon Forge, TN
MVP - Men of Vision & Prayer
A variety of opportunities are available for men who seek to grow in faith, build on relationships, and serve God and others:
• Promise Keepers – an annual trip to one of the Promise Keepers rallies
• Men’s Bible studies
on Wednesday and Sunday evenings.
• Men’s Retreats and conferences
• Outdoor Family Festival
• Missions / Service Projects – opportunities for men to serve others in the community, around the state, and across the nation
Women’s Ministries
There are numerous opportunities for women to “plug-in” to ministries designed for them:
• Retreats – a time when women get away from the dailies to have a time of spritual renewal. This trip includes Bible studies, special guest speakers, and time for fun and fellowship.
• Ladies’ Bible studies are offered on Sunday and Wednesday nights at the church and in homes during the week.
• Special Events – There are two special events per year for the women fo First Baptist Church, Autauga County, and the surrounding communities..
• MOMM - "Making Our Mothering Matter" is a meeting for stay at home moms that meets twice a month for Bible study and fellowship during the school year.
• WWW.4Women is a unique fellowship opportunity for women which meets on Wednesday evenings in the fall and spring. During this time, a series of programs designed to meet the practical needs of women are offered.
• Apples of Gold - A six week mentoring program based on Titus 2:3-5 where older women teach younger women. This group meets in a home each week for a time of fellowship, Bible study, cooking demonstrations, and a delicious meal.
•Fellowship Dinners - There are two fellowship dinners a year where women meet for good food, fellowship, and uplifting programs.
WMU
Women’s Missionary Union provides an opportunity to learn about and
participate in missions, both at home and abroad. A number of WMU
groups meet monthly.
Builders for Christ
Each year, FBC sends out volunteers, both men and women, to help
churches in various parts of the country in construction projects.
Southern Baptist Disaster Relief
Trained volunteers work in cooperation with the Autauga Baptist
Association and Alabama Baptist State Convention to provide relief in
disaster areas, both in the U.S. and around the world. Volunteers serve
on mobile feeding units, chainsaw crews, mud-out crews, in emergency
child-care, and counseling. Training is offered several times each year
for the various aspects of disaster relief.
