Student Ministries
Student Minister - Larry Jenkins
Ministry Assistant - Teen Mullis
The Student Ministry of FBC Prattville is committed
to the five biblical purposes of the church. As students connect with
our ministry it is our goal to guide them to experience growth through
each of those five areas:
WORSHIP
Worship is not a "spectator event"; it requires participation.
• Students participate in the 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Worship on Sunday
morning and are a part of age-graded Bible study inthe 9:45 a.m. Sunday
School.
• Our Junior High and Senior High Choirs rehearse at 4:45 p.m. each Sunday night and often lead in worship services.
• Student led worship also draws us together each Wednesday night at 6
p.m. for "Club 412". Our student Praise Band leads a time of praise and
worship followed by a time of study from God’s Word. Our name comes
from I Timothy 4:12 - "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you
are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, life, love,
faith and purity." Come worship the Lord with us!
EVANGELISM
Our students are encouraged to lead a lifestyle of evangelism following
Jesus’ command to "Go and make disciplesof all nations…" (Matt.
28:19-20). The church supports the role of students to be missionaries
to their school campuses. Opportunities for evangelism training and
outreach are fostered through encouragement to be involved in
"Fellowship of Christian Students" on their school campuses; our
"Student F.A.I.T.H." program, offered in the fall; missions groups
(Acteens and Challengers); summer mission projects; and special
outreach events. Help us to intentionally share the"Good News"!
DISCIPLESHIP
The student disciple is encouraged to grow through a plan of
daily quiet times, involvement in weekly Bible study through our Sunday
School and "Club 412", and accountability to a small group through our
DiscipleYouth ministry.Come grow with us!
MINISTRY
Students are not just the "church of tomorrow" they are indeed
the church of today. Students play a vital role in reaching out and
ministering to the needs of others in our community and around the
world. It is our responsibility to provide opportunities for students
to be able to serve and use their gifts and abilities for the work of
God’s kingdom. Students may minister to others through various projects
during the year:
Missions groups ("Acteens" for girls/
"Challengers"for guys), mission projects, praise band, Student
newsletter, choir tour, creative ministry teams(drama/puppets), and
more. There is a place for everyone to serve!
FELLOWSHIP
For believers, fellowship brings strength and encouragement
for living the abundant life. For pre-Christians, we are able to share
the joy of knowing Jesus through just plain fun! Through the year
students may share in times of "hanging out", trips, concerts,
lock-ins, and after-church fellowships. Come find your place in our
"FIRST"family!
